McKinsey’s proven 7-step approach to team problem solving:
- Define the exact problem you’re solving
- Structure the problem by disaggregating it
- Prioritise which elements of the problem are most urgent or important
- Analyse the priority issues and plan the work – divide and conquer!
- Pull out the “so what” of each piece of analysis
- Distil the team’s thinking into a clear solution for the user/customer
- Communicate your thinking in a way that generates buy-in
